Florida Voting Machine Logs Reveal Anomalies

I knew it, the rest of the world knew it, and now it seems the 95 percent naive American fucks that decide the US’s future are slowly waking up to the truth as well.
According to this posting on Slashdot,
“Having ’successfully sued former Palm Beach County (FL) Supervisor of Elections Theresa LePore to get the [...]

Yay, the Olympics are coming to an end!

Finally — all the crap about the Olympics clogging up all the media will slowly disappear after this weekend.
Never understood the whole point about it anyways. I only see massive amounts of money being spent on lobbying (i.e. bribes) for what country to host it, the actual building of the complex and the rest that [...]

Another bunny picture

I just discovered an old but quite high quality image a friend of mine made of my rabbit last July:

Hip Hop Appreciation Week 2006

I just read this on KRS-One’s Temple Of HipHop:
MARK YOUR CALENDARS! May 15th-22nd 2006 marks the 9th Annual Hip Hop Appreciation Week (H.H.A.W.). Since 1998 the third week in May has become a time to reflect upon our roles as citizens of the international Hip Hop community and to recommit ourselves to Hip Hop’s core [...]

On democracy…

This analogy hit me last night when me and the girlfriend were watching television and I had the remote-control in my hand:
Democracy is the TV, the society watches and politicians are the guy with the remote-control.
There’s a 120 channels on, yet politicians only allow you to choose one of the two or three channels [...]

Halliburton Detention Centers

I just read this article on ZMag.org, entitled “Halliburton Detention Centers”:
Vice President Dick Cheney’s personal cash cow is the lucky beneficiary of yet another government contract. The Halliburton story of banana republic corruption is well known to anyone not living under a rock. Because their crimes have gone unpunished, news of Halliburton chicanery barely raises [...]

NG-BASIC 0.2.12

Today I found some time to perform some code cleanup on NG-BASIC.
A lot of obsolete code, like old routines and commented-out debug stuff has been removed — just about 380 lines.
Other than that, no noteworthy changes.
NG-BASIC, BASIC, Javascript, Firefox, Interpreters, Programming

“Miserly politicians that keep praising the legacy of MLK while sticking knives into it”

I just read this article in the Guerrilla Funk Thought Box that I couldn’t resist to share here. It’s on Martin Luther King, what he stood for, and current politicians using it for their own good:
Today, a slick rhetorical formula enables current generations of such miserly politicians to keep praising the legacy of Martin Luther [...]

Impeach him now before it’s too late and we’ll never get rid of this dictator son-of-a-Bush!

Interesting article on prisonplanet.com: Is Bush The Lifetime President?:
Those confident in the fact that President Bush will leave office in January 2009 after his second term ends would be wary to check out images posted on the Huffington Post website.
During a National Guard ceremony gala on Thursday night, Bush was presented with a life-size [...]

*sigh* parents …

Hmm OK, Missing teen Natalie Holloway’s parents sue man questioned in case
Jordan Van Der Sloot and his father were served with the lawsuit in New York Thursday. The lawsuit, filed by Natalee Holloway’s parents, allege Jordan Van Der Sloot assaulted Holloway and his father, Paulus Van Der Sloot, enabled his son’s “violent and anti-social [...]

Cat has had her drains removed — and the labresults are in…

OK getting her in a travelling-basket, or a box, or anything was a nightmare. Because of the stupid collar around her neck she panics when we close it and starts twisting and shaking to get out.
Not nice to look at, so quickly opened the basket again. Cat totally stressed out, as one can imagine.
We [...]

NG-BASIC 0.2.10 bugfix release

I just updated my BASIC interpreter implementation in Javascript to NG-BASIC 0.2.10.
The main and only change is the the Canvas bugfix. Due to calling beginPath() and closePath() in the wrong order, polygons started appearing in stead of circles.
Strangely enough this hadn’t affected earlier versions of Firefox 1.5 otherwise I already would’ve seen the problem.
Anyways — [...]

Cat has to go for a check-up later today…

Later today, our recovering cat, Mimi, has to go to the vet again for a check-up. They’re gonna check if it is all healing OK.
Additionally, they are going to remove the drain that stick out of the stitch. (Apparently, these drains are there to prevent the wound from closing up, so that any pus and [...]

Free (as in beer) Media: If we don’t watch out it’s gone

Just read this article on the RIAA’s latest bullshit.
Presumable, first they say copying a bought CD is OK.
Now they say it’s infringing use. From the article:
If I understand what the RIAA is saying, “perfectly lawful” means “lawful until we change our mind.” So your ability to continue to make copies of your own CDs on [...]

Prostitutes want GTA banned

Speaking of bans, Slashdot also reports on prostitutes wanting the game GTA banned:
In the games, players can solicit “services” from prostitutes by driving their cars slowly near them. No sexual acts are in clear visible view, but during the “transaction,” the player regains health and loses money. Though the player cannot actively rape prostitutes in [...]

Graffiti game banned in Australia

Slashdot reports on a certain graffiti game being banned in Australia.

So, it’s OK for a US game producer to make a game in which you slay whole cultures of people. That basically sends out the signal `It is OK to kill to gain something‘.
Something harmless (and expressive) like graffiti is not at all sending out [...]

Some more bunny-pics

While I had to use digikam to download the images of the Kodak camera anyways, I found some more cute, recent, images of my bunnies.
And here they are:

Rocky — looking like he runs the place.

Chico in his home-made castle.

Animals, Pets, Bunnies, Rabbits

Cat’s had something to drink now, too.

Yay — she finally had something to drink late last night.
I tried giving her some water before, yesterday simply by shoving my wet finger in her face so she was forced to lick it. So at least a bit of fresh water in her system.
Catfood, from a can, usually has this juicy, fatty fluid in [...]

On more reason to use open source software.. And why they don’t want you to use it.

All you Microsoft users in the UK, be warned. The BBC reports that the UK government wants a backdoor in Microsoft Vista:
Windows Vista is due to be rolled out later this year. Cambridge academic Ross Anderson told MPs it would mean more computer files being encrypted.
He urged the government to look at establishing “back door” [...]

Living on the edge…

After having my finger seriously bitten into by my cat I didn’t really take it no mind.
Hell, I’ve seen people bitten by even dirtier animals and they survived without going to the doctor.
For fun, I just started Googling a bit. On familydoctor.org I found this:

You have a cat bite. Cat bites often cause infection. [...]
