The US is obviously scared of this guy (or guys alike) and rather sees them removed from society… They are of course trying to give him the maximum penalty, serving as an example to prevent other people from trying the same.
Anyways, the least they could do is try him in the UK, and not in the US under US laws. But that probably doesn’t fit into their plans. (Hell, he could be easily forced or recruted for America’s cyber-jihad — know what I mean?)
