The dark nature of capitalism…

I couldn’t resist to use the same title for this post as the one I recently read on connecting*the*dots — because, hey, the following is also the dark nature of capitalism…

This morning, there was some news on TV (can’t help it — my girlfriend always turns the damn thing on in the morning), that earlier this week, in Germany, 117 containers filled with fake-sneakers was intercepted in a shipment from Asia:

According to the news-reader, the total catch had a worth of 380 million Euros.

Now, with all these poor development countries and all these initiatives to get your old clothes to, say, typhoon- or hurricane- hit areas or whatever and all these initiatives to recycle and shit — what do you think that they did with these shoes?

But of course, don’t be ridiculous thinking otherwise, it has to serve the capitalist cause….. It gets destroyed:

Now ain’t that cute…. (but oh so wrong)… I mean — al those Asian kids exploited for nothing — they’re out of a job now.

And fuck, it’s probably because they made an ever better product than the brand itself…
